Turn your Shopify store into a WhatsApp catalog: install Meta’s free Shopify channel, connect your accounts, and your products sync into a Meta catalog automatically.
1
Before you begin
Have these ready so the first sync succeeds:
A live Shopify store that isn’t password-protected
Each product has a photo and a Google product category set in Shopify
2
Install Facebook & Instagram by Meta
In your Shopify admin, open Apps → Shopify App Store, search for Facebook & Instagram, and install the channel by Meta — it’s free on every Shopify plan.
3
Start the setup
Open the Facebook & Instagram channel in Shopify and click Start setup to begin connecting Meta.
4
Connect your Meta accounts
Sign in to Facebook and connect your Business portfolio, Facebook Page, Meta pixel and the catalog that will hold your products, then approve the requested permissions.
5
Choose a checkout method
Pick Checkout on your online store so shoppers complete the purchase in Shopify (recommended outside the US), then click Next.
6
Select the products to sync
Choose all products or specific collections to publish. Shopify pushes titles, images, prices, descriptions and inventory into your Meta catalog. Products missing a photo or Google product category won’t sync.
7
Let the catalog sync
Finish setup — Shopify creates and fills your Meta catalog. The first sync and Meta’s review can take up to 24 hours; after that, price and stock changes in Shopify update the catalog automatically.
8
Connect the catalog to WhatsApp
Your products now live in a Meta catalog. To send them on WhatsApp, follow the Connect your catalog to WhatsApp guide — assign WPAUTOAI as your catalog partner and enter your Facebook Catalog ID.
