Build your Meta catalog from a spreadsheet product feed — a full walkthrough from what you need, through Commerce Manager, to a catalog that’s synced and ready for WhatsApp.
1
Before you begin
Have these ready — they save you from the most common setup errors:
Product photos hosted at public image links (Meta reads them from your sheet, not from your computer)
Your WhatsApp number connected in WPAUTOAI under Settings → Channels
2
Open Commerce Manager and add products
Go to business.facebook.com/commerce and sign in with the account that owns your business. On the Get started screen, click Add products.
3
Add basic info about your catalog
Choose Online products as the catalog type and leave Connect to a partner platform off. Pick the business portfolio that owns the catalog, name it (e.g. Catalogue_Products) and click Next.
4
Connect event tracking (optional)
If you run a website with a Meta pixel, toggle it on so product interactions are tracked. For a WhatsApp-only catalog you can skip this — click Next either way.
5
Choose Connect to a data feed
When asked how to upload products, select Connect to a data feed — this lets your catalog read products from a spreadsheet and update automatically — then click Next.
6
Pick Google Sheets and download the template
Choose Use a URL or Google Sheets, then open Download template and grab the .xlsx or .csv standard template — it already has every column Meta expects.
7
Fill in the template — one row per product
Copy the template into Google Sheets and add one row per product. The columns that matter most:
id — a unique code for each product; never reuse one
title and description — the name and details customers see
price — the amount with currency, e.g. 499.00 INR
availability — in stock or out of stock
image_link — a public URL to the product photo, not a file on your computer
Country of Origin — required for Indian businesses, or catalog messages won’t send
8
Share your sheet and paste the link
In Google Sheets click Share and set access to Anyone with the link. Copy that link, then back in the Data feed dialog choose Use Google Sheets, paste it, set an hourly, daily or weekly refresh and finish.
9
Review your catalog overview
Once the feed processes, the Overview shows your setup complete and the products synced. Fix any items flagged with errors from Catalogue → Data sources.
10
Add more products anytime
Later, open Catalogue → Products and click Add to append products via a data file, manual entry or a partner platform — your catalog stays in sync.
11
Connect your catalog to WhatsApp
Your products now live in Meta. To send them on WhatsApp, go back to setup and assign WPAUTOAI as your catalog partner, then enter your Facebook Catalog ID — the Assign WPAUTOAI as your catalog partner and Find and connect your Facebook Catalog ID guides walk you through it.
