What the Template Library is for

The Template Library — under Campaigns → Template Messages → Template Library — is a catalog of ready-made message templates you can borrow from instead of starting from a blank page. Nothing in it belongs to your account: every entry is a starting point you copy, never a template you can send, and that is what separates the library from the templates you build and own yourself. Narrow the catalog with the search box, the industry tabs and the language picker until it shows the kind of message you're after — each card carries its Marketing, Utility or Authentication category and the full message body, so you can judge the wording before you take it. Browsing creates nothing; you only end up with a template of your own once you copy an entry.

Preview a template, then make it yours

Preview on any card opens the entry exactly as WhatsApp will render it — header, body, footer and buttons — and when the template carries variables, Fill with sample content swaps every {{1}} placeholder for realistic example text so you can read the message the way a customer will (Show placeholders flips it back, and templates without variables never show the toggle at all). Use Template opens the template builder prefilled from that entry — it always starts a new template of your own, and the library entry itself is never changed — so you can rename it, adjust the wording and submit it to Meta from there. Only Meta-Approved templates can be used in a campaign, so your copy sits unusable for sending until Meta approves it — which is exactly why it's worth previewing an entry before you commit to it. See Create a template for the build-and-submit path, and Your Templates for where your copy lands and how its status is tracked.
